How We Helped Our Client Declutter & Organize Her Walk-In Closet in New Orleans

By Nola Organizers · · New Orleans, Orleans Parish
6 hrs Project time
1 Organizer
2 Closet sides
1 Donation drop-off

Our client wanted help turning her walk-in closet back into a space she could walk into and enjoy using again.

The six-hour project focused on both sides of the his-and-hers closet. One organizer worked with her to review the clothing and belongings in the space, then organized everything she and her husband were keeping.

The finished closet has more open floor space, clearer categories, and a setup that is easier to use and maintain.

Before: A Walk-In Closet Ready for a Reset

We began by looking at both sides of the closet and taking stock of what was there. Clothing, travel items, accessories, and other belongings had accumulated across the hanging areas, shelves, and floor.

Taking everything into account gave us a clear starting point for the client-guided decisions ahead.

Step 1 Declutter Both Sides Together

We worked through the his-and-hers closet with our client and helped her decide what she wanted to keep, toss, or donate. Reviewing each item together kept the choices connected to how she and her husband use the space now.

Once the decluttering was finished, the items selected for donation were set aside so they could be taken care of at the end of the session.

Step 2 Organize What Was Staying

After the decisions were made, we straightened and organized the clothing and belongings that remained. Similar pieces were kept together, hanging space was arranged by type and color, and shelves were given a clearer purpose.

That approach is at the heart of our closet organization services: creating a system that makes everyday use and maintenance more straightforward.

The Finished Walk-In Closet

At the end of the six-hour session, the closet had more open floor space and a more usable layout. The clothing and belongings our client and her husband were keeping were easier to see and put away.

We also took the selected donations with us so the next step was completed before the session ended.
