How We Helped Our Client Declutter & Organize Her Office in New Orleans
Our client wanted to get her New Orleans home office back to a space she could use to work, focus, and be productive.
Over time, the room had filled with books, memorabilia, teaching supplies, arts and crafts, and other belongings. Two organizers spent five hours working with her to review what was in the office, make decisions about what to keep, donate, or discard, and organize what remained.
By the end of the project, the office had more open floor space and a clearer setup for everyday work.
Before: An Office Ready for More Usable Space
The office held many different types of belongings, including books, memorabilia, teaching materials, and creative supplies. As we began, we looked at the room as a whole and identified what was making it harder to use.
Boxes and trash bags gave us a practical way to sort items as we worked through the space with our client.
Step 1 Sort Through Everything Together
We worked alongside our client and helped her decide what she wanted to keep, donate, or discard. Since there was a lot to review, this decision-making stage was a major part of the project.
- Books and reading materials
- Memorabilia and keepsakes
- Teaching supplies
- Arts and crafts materials
- Items selected for donation
- Belongings ready to leave the office
Step 2 Organize What Was Staying
Once the decluttering was complete, we straightened the room and organized everything our client decided to keep. We cleared the floor, put items away, and created a home for the belongings that needed to remain in the office.
This is the same client-guided approach we bring to our home office organization services: a practical system built around how the space needs to function.
Step 3 Complete the Donation Drop-Off
We took all of the selected donations to a local donation center in New Orleans after the session. That gave our client a completed next step and meant she did not have to manage the donations separately after the office was organized.
What Changed
The floor was cleared so the office is easier to walk into and use.
Every item was reviewed with the client before it was kept, donated, or discarded.
Books, supplies, memorabilia, and other belongings were put away with purpose.
Selected donations were delivered to a local New Orleans donation center.
