How We Packed Our Client's Kitchen for a Move in New Orleans
Our client was getting ready to move and wanted extra help packing the kitchen in their New Orleans home.
Some clients hire us to pack multiple areas of their home, while others need help with one specific space. For this project, we focused entirely on the kitchen and completed the work in about five hours with one professional organizer.
Kitchens often take careful planning because they include fragile dishes and glasses, pantry items, small appliances, and many different types of belongings. Our goal was to pack everything safely while keeping similar items together for an easier unpacking process.
Step 1 Gather the Right Packing Supplies
Before the session, we helped make sure the supplies were ready for the kitchen. Having the right materials on hand allowed us to move through the packing process efficiently and give fragile items the protection they needed.
- Bubble wrap and packing paper
- Packing tape
- Glass packing kits
- Boxes in several sizes
This preparation is part of how our packing services make a move more manageable from the start.
Step 2 Wrap Fragile Items Carefully
We wrapped glasses and other breakable pieces individually before placing them into protective packing materials. The care taken with each item helped keep the kitchen's fragile belongings secure during the move.
Plates and dishes stayed together, glasses were grouped together, and other delicate pieces were packed with the protection appropriate for their shape and material.
Step 3 Pack by Category and Label Every Box
As we packed, we kept similar items together so everything would be easier to find when it was time to unpack. Pantry items were packed together, glasses stayed with glasses, and plates and dishes stayed together.
Every box was labeled on both the top and the sides. That way, even when boxes were stacked, our client could quickly see what was inside and where it belonged.
Ready for the Move
By the end of the five-hour session, the kitchen was packed, organized, and ready for moving day. The boxes were grouped by the types of items inside and labeled so they would be easier to identify at the new home.
Instead of spending hours wrapping dishes and figuring out how to pack each part of the kitchen, our client had extra help with one of the more time-consuming parts of moving.
