How We Helped Organize Our Client's Garage in Metairie
For this Metairie project, our client hired us to organize the garage as a birthday surprise for his wife.
Two organizers spent five hours resetting the space. We swept out the garage, wiped down the shelves, wiped out the storage pieces, returned items to their proper places, and created clear categories that make the space easier for the whole family to use.
The goal was not just a fresh look for the birthday surprise — it was a garage with more usable space and a simple system that feels good to keep up with.
Before: A Garage Ready for a Reset
The garage held a mix of family gear, tools, work surfaces, and storage. We started by taking stock of what belonged in the space and identifying the best places for it to live.
Step 1 Sweep and Wipe Down the Space
We cleared the areas we were working in so we could sweep out the garage and wipe down the shelves, storage pieces, and work surfaces before items were returned.
Starting with cleared, wiped-down surfaces gave the finished system a fresh, practical foundation.
Step 2 Sort by Category and Put Everything in Its Place
Once the surfaces were ready, we sorted the contents into categories and returned each group to a place that made sense for how the family uses the space. This is the foundation of our garage organization services: a system built around the household, not a generic layout.
